Quizlet changes its caps often; check quizlet.com before you decide. Our free plan limits deck creation, never studying.

Move a Quizlet set in three steps

No browser extension and no Quizlet password: you only copy text Quizlet already lets you export.

  1. Step 1

    Export on Quizlet

Open your set, click the three dots, then Export. Leave the default tab and new-line separators.

  2. Step 2

    Paste it here

Paste into the box at the top. Every card is previewed; remove any you do not need or swap sides.

  3. Step 3

    Save and study

Save the deck and start Learn mode straight away, or export it as an Anki file.

Or skip the typing: make new cards with AI

Paste notes or type a topic and the AI writes the deck in about 30 seconds. This is the part Quizlet charges for.

Start with your own material

Notes: start without signup. PDF or Word: choose a file first, then create a free account for your first import.

Text & topics: no signup. 1 deck/day · first 10 cards of each deck free. Guest access includes 10 decks total.

What would you like to study?

Include facts or explanations you want to remember. For a subject name, choose Topic above.

When Quizlet is still the better pick

  • You need someone else's public set. Quizlet's library of shared sets is far larger than any alternative's.
  • Your class runs on Quizlet Live. If a teacher uses Live games in class, keep the account for that.
  • You never hit a cap. If the free plan already covers how you study, there is no reason to move.

Quizlet alternative FAQ

What is the best free Quizlet alternative?

+

It depends on why you are leaving. If you hit the free Learn and practice-test caps or the ads, FlashcardMaker.me keeps those study modes free and ad-free and writes cards from your notes with AI. If you want maximum control over review intervals, Anki is the strongest free option but has no AI and a steeper setup. Our longer guide compares twelve options side by side.

Can I move my Quizlet sets here?

+

Yes. On Quizlet, open your set, choose Export, copy the text and paste it into the box at the top of this page. Terms and definitions are split automatically, you can remove or swap cards, and the deck is saved in one click. It works for sets you created; copying other people’s sets is up to Quizlet’s terms.

Is it really free, or is Learn mode limited like Quizlet?

+

Studying is never capped: flip cards, quiz, typed answers and spaced repetition are free on every deck you have. What is limited on the free plan is making new AI decks (1 a day without an account, 3 with a free account). Pro removes that limit.

Does it have a Learn mode and practice tests?

+

Yes. Learn mode walks you through a deck in short rounds and brings back what you missed. You can also turn any deck into a multiple-choice quiz, and the free quiz maker builds a full practice test with an answer key from your notes.

Can I share decks with classmates like on Quizlet?

+

Yes. With a free account you can send a share link; anyone who opens it can copy the deck into their own account and study it with every mode.

Will my cards be locked in?

+

No. You can export any deck to Anki (.apkg) or CSV/TSV, which Quizlet itself can import, so you can move back at any time.
