Is Quizlet Plus Worth It? Cost, Limits and Cheaper Options (2026)

A student weighing the cost of a study subscription against a stack of flashcards and notes on a balance scale

Short answer

Quizlet Plus is worth paying for only if you study from other people's Quizlet sets most weeks and want Learn, Test and Study Guides on them. Quizlet's own help center says Plus has monthly usage limits and that the separate Plus Unlimited tier removes them. US web prices are reported at $7.99 a month or $35.99 a year for Plus. If your main need is turning your own notes or PDFs into cards, you can do that free, and Flashcard Maker Pro is $1.99 for the first month if you hit the free limits.

What Quizlet Plus costs in 2026

Quizlet sells several subscriptions: Plus, Plus Unlimited, Plus for teachers, a Family Plan and group subscriptions. Its help center describes Plus as "extended access to premium study tools with monthly usage limits" and Plus Unlimited as the tier without those limits.

For Plus on the US web, price trackers report $7.99 a month or $35.99 a year, and about $44.99 a year for Plus Unlimited. App Store and Google Play prices can differ. Prices change by country and store, so confirm the number on quizlet.com/upgrade before you pay.

Paying monthly all year works out to $95.88 on Quizlet at $7.99, which is exactly what our own annual plan costs. If you will study all year, Quizlet's annual plan is the cheaper of the two. We are not cheaper there.

When Quizlet Plus is worth the money

Pay for Plus if you rely on classmates' or teachers' Quizlet sets, you use Learn and Test mode every week, and you want one tool for the whole year. A school that already runs on Quizlet is the strongest case.

Do not pay yet if you mostly build your own decks. The free plan covers creating and studying flashcards, and the paid features are mainly extra modes and study guides on top.

When a free or cheaper alternative is enough

If your bottleneck is making cards, not drilling shared ones, paste your notes or upload a PDF into Flashcard Maker. Guests get 10 cards per deck with no sign-up, and a free account gets 15 cards per deck and 5 decks a day. Pro raises that to 100 cards per deck with unlimited decks and PDF imports, starting at $1.99 for the first month.

If you want a free option with a big shared library, see our Quizlet alternatives guide, which covers Knowt, Anki and others.
